Master of History, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro, makes an essential contribution to the development of history and culture to strengthen national culture to face the wave of globalization. The Master of History also deals with the threat of national disintegration. The danger of national disintegration is not only the duty of the national security and defence, but also involves socio-cultural aspects. By developing excellence in the study of maritime history and national integration, the Master Program of History, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro is expected to become one of Indonesia’s leading historical higher education institutions that is recognized internationally through scientific activities and publications.
The Study Program offers graduate-level training to be a lecturer, teacher, or research teacher. There are currently more than a hundred graduates who have finished their Masters’s degrees. The study program’s teaching and research expertise lies primarily in the maritime history of Southeast Asia, which represents the course of Maritime History and Nationalism and National Character. We also offer a selection of courses in specific topics, including maritime anthropology, developmental sociology, and educational history.
Graduates of the Master Program of History are all absorbed in the job market, especially teachers, lecturers, researchers, museum employees, and professionals in documentation institutions. Several efforts have been made to forge partnerships and alliances with various institutions, such as national and international universities, documentation institutions, local governments, schools, etc.
Our faculty members are committed to teaching the content of history. They are dedicated to teaching history, which is essential in this contemporary era of globalization. They are also actively engaged in research and publication. They contribute towards the editorial work both as editor and reviewer.

Master of History
Master of History offers a learning program that can be taken in four to eight semesters. This study program has been established since 2006. In order to respond to the development of science and the demands of society, nation and state, Master of History has a clearly formulated vision, mission, and goals.
In organizing academic activities, Master of History is supported by qualified resources consisting of four professors and eight doctors and has received an A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) since 2017 until now. Master of History applies a curriculum that emphasizes the exploration of students’ ideas and creativity in the field of history. The students come from within and outside the country and have multi-ethnic backgrounds. Graduates of the Master of History are equipped with academic competencies in the form of the ability to research and disseminate research results in the field of history, especially maritime history and national integration. The academic competence of graduates of the Master of History is in the form of competence in the field of historical theory and methodology, bibliography of historical research, seminars and publications in the field of history. These competencies can be used by graduates to be ready to work as research teachers, lecturers, and history researchers.
